Information about the library in Rome of the Finnish Institute for Classical Studies in Rome. Here you can find information about the Institute and Villa Lante, the seat of the Institute. Among libraries in Rome this institute is a scientific library which includes c. 16,000 volumes and is available to the residents of the Institute and to visitors by appointment. The special field of the library is the study of the Antiquity, in particular the Roman topography. The purpose of the library is to serve as a reference library for the Institute’s researchers and thus it aims to purchase the most important reference books on classical philology, ancient history, classical archaeology and art history.
