The Italian Sailing Federation, Federazione Italiana Vela, has been in activity since the 1920's, and it's goal is the promotion of this sport above all through the teaching of this art to new generations and with the help of the sailing industry, very active in Italy, in the production of ships, charters, not only for this sport but also at a touristic level.
Rome Sailing: Sailing Schools
There are many Rome sailing schools that are affiliates of the Italian Sailing Federation, and that practise this sport at high levels. The Sailing Club Ali6 is located in Anguillara Sabazia, just a few kilometres from Rome. This Rome sailing club proposes courses in theory, practise in the Bracciano Lake where the fleet is moored, and regattas for adults and children are held. Near Rome it is possible to find another Rome sailing club, Ventotene Sailing Club, that proposes a lot of cultural activities dedicated to the sea and its promotion and also sailing courses, training courses and activities about the Mediterranean Sea.
