Rome by Night: Caffè della Malva
Behind Piazza Trilussa in Piazza San Giovanni della Malva there is one of the most particular nightclubs inTrastevere. The Caffè della Malva is a cocktail wine bar, where the quiet and selected environment make the distinction. A fizzy nightclub that offers and proposes an abundant and attractive array of drinks for its happy hour every day of the week from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The happy hour consists of a choice of drinks and of a large buffet that doesn’t contain the usual sliced meat, rather it gives the opportunity to taste pasta, meat, omelettes and other typical meals, all at the price of just 6 euros. Cocktails prepared by the fun-loving barman, Valerio, are really tasty and we advise, apart from the exclusive “cocktail della malva”, to taste the mojto for which the nightclub is renowned. The Caffè della Malva also opens at 6 in the morning and organizes good brunches too.

Rome by Night: Big Hilda Caffé
Without a doubt Vicolo del Cinque is one of the most visited streets in Trastevere during Rome by night forays, and here you can find the “Big Hilda Caffè” (the name derives from an Irish cartoon), a beer-house and wine bar characterized by an informal and warm atmosphere. The furnishings are that of a classic Irish pub, but decorated with old film posters. At the Big Hilda we were warmly welcomed by Roberta who showed us the features of Big Hilda. The nightclub is open at lunch four days a week, and on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. it organizes an abundant “Brunch”  which both foreigners and Italians enjoy. During these brunchs there is a very special atmosphere. In the week the Big Hilda organizes every day a cheap Happy Hour, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at night any alcoholic drink costs half price, so with less than 3.50 euros you can taste cocktails or a good beer. To anyone likes to snack while drinking or having a beer, the Big Hilda offers an abundant menu of which we advice the “Tagliere Centro Tavola”, an abundant chopping board with sliced meals, cheeses, toasted bread. Courtesy, sympathy and kindness are surely a party to the atmosphere at the Big Hilda, a quiet nightclub where you may have a pleasant time in the company of friends.

Rome by Night: Mr. Brown
Mr. Brown is another nightclub on Vicolo del Cinque. It is very dazzling, in fact at the entrance there is a wall of light in wood that enlightens the whole modern bar and the first area of the nightclub. We were welcomed by Minor, one of the two partners that run the nightclub. He showed us the simplicity of Mr. Brown, defining it as a pub where you can taste a good beer or a cocktail in the European tradition at a good price. Moreover each day from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., you can save some money by partecipating in the Mr. Brown Happy Hour (3 euros per cocktail). At Mr. Brown you can also savor yummy rolls, crepes, or snacks with your drink, even though the specialty of the pub is made of tasty sampler of cheeses.
