Its flavour depends on the variety of lemon used in the recipe which is usually determined by the Italian region that produces it. The Italian limoncello is an extremely versatile drink: it should be always served very cold or mixed with cream or other mixers to create some really good and extremely colourful limoncello cocktails.
Italian limoncello: How to make it
In order to make an exceptional Italian limoncello follow this limoncello recipe. Buy these ingredients: 1 litre of alcohol, 10 lemons, 1,5 litres of water. 1,5 kilos of sugar. Instructions:  Wash the lemons with hot water to remove any reside of pesticides or wax; pat the lemons dry. Using a potato peeler, take all the lemon rinds off of the lemons so there is no white pith on the peel. Place the rind-peelings in a large container with the alcohol. Cover the container and let it sit for seven days. In the eighth day, strain the peels from alcohol and discard them. In a large saucepan, make a simple syrup by combining the water and sugar; let it simmer for 15 minutes. Let simple syrup cool to room temperature. Add to alcohol. You are now finished and you can drink it right away!
