The so called “Angels and Demons Tour” in Rome is a recent trend for tourists who are fascinated by the places that Dan Brown used in his intrernational best-seller, “Angels and Demons”, imortalized in the recent film with a star-studded cast. If you are looking for an incredible journey and want to follow the Path of Enlightenment step by step, we can give you some directions on streets, squares, churches and castles where Robert Langdon revealed the secrets of the sect of the Illuminati and saved the Vatican.

Angels and Demons Tour: The Film
We need to go back to 1600, a period dominated by trials, political intrigue, and the severity of the Inquisition, when one of the most influential secret societies, the Illuminati, began its mission. The Illuminati, Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Galileo Galilei, the twin heads of the society, scattered throughout the Eternal City clues and enigmas which, once solved, would lead the other adepts to a hidden secret. Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon, a Harvard professor, reads mysterious texts by Galileo and John Milton and identifies four altars of science, representing the four elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water, each corresponding to a precise place where captured cardinals are being sacrificed: these are the main clues that once cleared up will allow him to foil a deadly attack on the Catholic Church lead by a terrorist who has stolen a nuclear bomb.

Angels and Demons Tour: The Itinerary
This original itinerary includes:
-  the Pantheon, a spectacular building with a giant hole in the centre of its dome.
- the church of Santa Maria del Popolo in Piazza del Popolo, full of artistic treasures, including two masterpieces by Caravaggio,
