A Night in Rome: Where to Get Your Kicks

There is enough movida in a night in Rome, especially during the summer months, to out bat the majority of other cities in the world, which can seem dead after a certain hour. And the beauty of a night out in the Eternal City is that so much of it can be spent out of doors. A good example is that of Campo de' Fiori, which seems more like one gigantic venue under the stars and craddled by Renaissance palaces for the night's fun. It is the ideal zone for those who want to visit the center of the city at night, going to pubs, and meeting new people.
A Night in Rome: Campo de' Fiori
Your night in Rome can start off with a great aperitif. For this purpose, we can suggest to you the Vineria Reggio, the best place in town if you love good wine, and want it at a reasonable price. For example, a glass of Rapitalà (a good red wine from Sicily) is only €1.50. You can also taste appetizers like small pizzas, canapé, and sandwiches. Moreover, you can choose to stand at the bar or to sit down at outdoor tables to be a part of what's going in Campo de' Fiori. Outside, the price is a little bit higher. A menu for hot and cold specialities is also at your beck and call.
Your night in Rome can go on at the Taverna del Campo, next to the Vineria Reggio. It is not as cheap as the Vineria, but you can eat very good Italian specialities. In fact, inside this little inn there is a counter with many kinds of pizza and appetizers that you can eat sitting on a bar stool or even under the statue of Giordano Bruno in the center of the square.
Le Teste Matte, across from Taverna del Campo, is a nice and very popular place. From its menu you can choose many kinds of beverages, from a simple beer to an aged rum.
If you like ethnic food, located behind the flower banks and fountain at the end of the square, there is a narrow street where you can find a good Greek-Oriental rotisserie for a great kebab. The price is low, only €3.50 for a kebab or falafel.
The night in Rome can finish at the Drunken Ship, one of the most international pubs in Rome. For foreigners this pub is a home away from home and you will surely enjoy the funny and nice atmosphere that you can take in inside it. At the Drunken Ship you can taste beers and cocktails, even in original ways such as the body shot, very used and appreciated by customers. The music is good to. It is a mix of dance, indie and 80's songs, at a not very loud volume, in order to let people talk, and most importantly hear each other.
