4 Days in Rome: Your Second Day in Rome

Rome has so many attractions and things to see that it is virtually impossible to see everything: let's go on with our itinerary for 4 days in Rome and let's see what to visit during our second day in the Eternal City.
4 Days in Rome , Second Day: Start from Piazza Venezia.
In your 4 days in Rome, the second one will lead you in the very center of the Eternal City. Piazza Venezia is the symbol of the risorgimental Roma, and in it you can visit the Altar of Peace, also called Vittoriano, designed by the Italian sculptor Angelo Zanelli in the beginning of the XX century, in order to celebrate the Unification of Italy and the whole Italian risorgimental period. Leaving behind Piazza Venezia, going down Via del Teatro Marcello (if there is time, it’s worth visiting: it is one of the most ancient theatres in Rome, and its shape is very similar to the Colosseum’s one.) you will see Piazza del Campidoglio, site of the municipality of Rome. This square was totally planned by Michelangelo, including the unique patterns on the pavement. In the middle of this square there is an equestrian statue representing Marco Aurelio, but it’s only a copy of the original, saved in Capitoline Museums. The buildings where the Capitoline Museums are housed were built in the 17th century, based on an architectural sketch by Michelangelo: you will be able to see the Dying Gaul , a wonderful copy of a Greek original dating from the 3rd century b.C., and the Capitoline Venus.
After a long visit to the Capitoline Museums, let’s take a walk in the middle of the city: going down the long and beautiful steps of the Campidoglio, go towards Via d’Aracoeli, and then turn left on Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, a very long avenue full of shops. At the crossroads, turn right on Via di Torre Argentina: the ruins you will see are the ones of the sacred area, were Caesar was killed in 44 b.C. Going along Via di Torre Argentina, you will find on your right one of the most famous attraction of Rome, the Pantheon: it is among the architectural wonders of the world because of its dome and its particular concept of space.
4 Days in Rome , Second Day: Finish at Piazza Navona
Your second day of visit can finish by visiting Piazza Navona, at a few steps from the Pantheon: what’s more, it is a zone with a lot of restaurants and local haunts, so you could spend some time in your evening looking at the wonderful building of the Ambassy of Brasil, the Church of S.Agnese in Agone and the spectacular Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi by Bernini.
In the middle of your visit of 4 days in Rome, don't forget to spend the evening in one of the restaurants and pubs in the surroundings of Piazza Navona.
